10X Signs New Partnership with Korea Innovation Center

10X Innovation Lab signs partnership with Korea

10X is excited to announce we are kicking off 2021 on a high note, by officially announcing a new partnership with Korea Innovation Center Silicon Valley (KIC SV). Called “Beyond Soaring,” the two-month virtual program aims to support five startups in Seoul looking to develop customer and investor relationships in the US. This supports KIC’s efforts in serving as the global frontier for Korean startups and SMEs.

The virtual program, which kicks off in January, will consist of customized mentorship sessions and tailored meetings to explore partnerships with Silicon Valley companies. Each startup will be matched with a dedicated mentor that has expertise in their particular industry to provide best-in-class coaching to accelerate their business growth.

10X has evaluated and trained over 1,600 founders from 50 countries around the world, as well as supported the Taiwanese and Japanese governments in their startup initiatives, focused on international expansion to Silicon Valley. Our team is excited to expand our footprint through this new partnership with KIC. 10X will deliver the following topics in the Beyond Soaring program:

  • Growth marketing strategies for specific industries (channel, spend, prioritization)

  • MVP and Business Model Innovation

  • Building effective partnerships, including POCs and Pilots

  • Building early adopter communities

  • Pitching to investors

  • Mentorship and guidance throughout the program

Participants will also receive exclusive access to best practices, insights, and common pitfalls when entering a market like the US. The goal is for companies to create and foster customer and investor relationships in the US by the end of the program.

South Korea ranked 20th overall in the Startup Genome’s 2020 Global Startup Ecosystem Report, with an ecosystem valued at US$39 billion, nearly four times the global average. As an up-and-coming startup hub, South Korea is a natural partner for this virtual program.

10X’s CEO Klaus Wehage says:

“For the longest time, we’ve wanted to work with South Korea to support the country in becoming the next global startup hotspot. Moving forward with a strong partner like KIC SIV, we are honored to be chosen to lead the Beyond Soaring initiative. With our experience working with Asian startups in Taiwan and Japan, we are confident this partnership will succeed in helping Korean startups grow and scale.” -Klaus Wehage, CEO, 10X Innovation Lab

It is worth noting that 10X is writing a book on international expansion. They have crafted coveted strategies and frameworks based on interviews with executives from big tech companies like Google, Salesforce, Amazon, Slack, Microsoft, and more. The book is slated to be published in 2021, so watch out for it.
